How we choose

THE FOCUX is an educational project about health, habits and longevity. We report what studies say: who took part, how many people, for how long and with what limitations. Our goal is to inform, not to sell.

Affiliate links

Some evidence pages may include links to shops or brands whose affiliate programmes we take part in. If you buy through one of those links, we may earn a commission. The price for you is the same. Every such link is labelled “Advertising · affiliate link” right next to it, not only on this page.

We recommend based on evidence, not commission

• The evidence block is written and reviewed first; only then, if appropriate, is a link added. Never the other way round.
• If the evidence is weak, contradictory or comes only from animals, we say so, even if a link is available.
• We do not link to medicines, hormones, prescription peptides or ingredients that cannot be legally sold in the European Union (for example, unauthorised novel foods).
• Brands do not pay to appear, do not review our texts before publication and do not decide what we say. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly identified as such.
• Commissions do not change the order or rating of products. If a product stops meeting our criteria, we remove the link.

What we don't do with health claims

Food supplements are not medicines and do not prevent, treat or cure any disease. We only use health claims authorised in the EU (Regulation (EU) No 432/2012 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/672), with their exact wording and conditions of use. We do not attribute to any product effects on mental performance, ageing or any disease.

Food supplements

They should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the daily dose recommended by the manufacturer and keep them out of the reach of children. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take medication or have a health condition, consult a healthcare professional first.
